Babel is the film that truly full of interpretation as soon as you come to consider the plot and the story deeper. The setting of the movie consists of many different places all over the world. The plot is rather difficult to follow because it is or always move forward in the timeline but also backward. And at some points it moves forward and backward at the same time.
The cultural issues are represented by few person caught or placed in certain area where they become the strangers. They are so awkward in the local cultural and daily activities. There are problems to face are they struggle to mingle. There are American struggle in the Middle East and there are also Americans that struggle in Latin America. There are also Middle East local citizen to struggle in their own home for living.
There are also some political issues in the particular story. As the shepherds in the Middle East decide to use their riffle to shoot the wolves that might attack their sheep, the hit an American instead of the wolves. The question then, whether the gun really used to shoot the things it was meant to shoot, the wolves, and what does the wolves really represents.
