For some people, the James Cameron Avatar was the greatest movie. For some others, this movie was non-sense. Whether you think it is the greatest movie or not, now Avatar is no longer at the top rank in box office. Even though this movie was considered the best movie after Titanic in 1997, Avatar has to give up its position to a romantic drama titled Dear John. This all-Earth setting movie started its debut last week and got more than US$ 32 million, while Avatar that has travelled to the alien planet reached only US$ 23 million.
The movie Dear John is the romantic drama about the long distance relationship between John Tyree that was played buy Channing Tatum, and Savannah Curtis that was played by Amanda Seyfried. Channing Tatum was famous for its role in the movie Public Enemy along with the famous actor Johnny Depp that played as the unforgettable John Dillinger. Dear john is the movie about the love between the couples and this can be the inspiration for other romantic couples about the true love.
Even so, Avatar has reached the global income for US$ 2, 2 billion. Both of the movies have their own privileges. If you like the sci-fi movie, Avatar is a must to watch. However, if you like the down to earth romantic drama, you can choose Dear John.
