Steve Carell, The Office’s actor, is leaving this show next May. He told BBC that his contact expires by the end of the season and he did not have any plans to renew it. He has made things clear that he was not just expecting a better salary.
Steve Carell told E! that it was just the time, that he just wanted to fill his contract. He added that when he first signed on, he had a seven-season contract and that this year was his seventh. He just thought that it was time for his character to go as he sometimes saw the show going on without Michael Scott.
Steve Carell had made some comments about quitting from the show before. He mentioned that The Office was a great show. The ensembles were strong and so were the writers. They had incorporated so many new characters, many great storylines that he had no doubt it would continue as strong as or even stronger than ever. Though there was no Michael Scott on the show, it did not mean it was the end of the it, but it was rather a dynamic change. So, will people keep watching The Office if Steve Carell leaves?
