The Los Angeles Lakers put huge interests to find a player to fill their frontcourt position by signing Theo Ratliff, a veteran center, in Thursday. The Los Angeles Times mentioned that the contract is of 1 year deal and Ratliff costs $1.35 million minimum.

Theo Ratliff, a 37-year-old veteran who has just entered his16th season in NBA, made 5.1 points, 15 clocked shoots and 4.2 rebounds in 28 games during his career last season with the Charlotte Bobcats. He started with San Antonio this season and he made 1.6 points and also 1.9 boards in 21 games with the Spurs.

Theo Ratliff said that he had had a long rewarding career in NBA since he joined a storied legendary franchise like the Lakers that adds more special elements to the team. Now Ratliff is looking forward to joining Phil Jackson, the LA Lakers’ coach, and some great players like Derek Fisher, Kobe Bryant, Lamar Odom, Pau Gasol, Andrew Bynum and other new teammates. He also hoped to help Lakers win its third straight NBA championship. Ratliff was started his career when he got selected by the Detroit Pistons in 1995. He was successful in leading the blocked shots in 2000 to 2004.
