Another movie adapted from comic book is released. This time, Universal Studio presents the Scott Pilgrim series written by Bryan Lee O’Malley. Taking the episode of Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, this movie is directed by Edgar Wright who is also the director for the movie Shaun of the Dead. The plot of the story depicts Scott Pilgrim, the bassist of a band, who has to beat seven evil exes in order to win a girl’s heart, Ramona.
The character of Scott Pilgrim in the movie is played by Michael Cera, a 22 years old actor from Canada who is famous for starring Juno, Superbad, and Arrested Development. His lover Ramona in the story is played by Mary Elizabeth Winstead who is known for her specialty in starring several horror movies such as The Ring Two, Black Christmas, and Final Destination 3. Besides Cera and Winstead, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World also casts several other young actors/actresses.
Scott Pilgrim vs. the World movie shoot was started in March 2009 and finished in August in the same year. The whole filming took location in Toronto, Canada. The premier of the movie was held at the Comic-Con International festival in San Diego on July 22, 2010. On August 12, 2010, this $60 million-budget movie was finally released in New Zealand and Australia.
