Toward the end of the year, some movies that are aimed at providing full entertainment for the families, in terms of pure drama or comedy-drama, will be premiered. One of them is Another Year, a drama movie that will be premiered on December 29, 2010 in some cinemas in the United Kingdom. It Stars Jim Broadbent, Imelda Staunton, David Bradley, Lesley Manville, Peter Wright, and Oliver Maltman.
The movie director as well as screenwriter Mike Leigh seems to guarantee the success that will be gained by Another Year. Leigh has his own method of improvisation to yield some of the finest performances. Leigh was used to delivering a moving and detailed portrait of his character’s inner lives. The efficacy of the techniques has been proven through the nomination of his previous movies for screenplay.
The movie Another Year is produced by Sony Pictures Classics. It features a happily married couple, Tom (Jim Broadbent) and Gerri (Imelda Staunton). However, the couple begins to be overwhelmed by the fear of facing their aging process. Even though they realize that it is an inevitable process, they do not seem to be ready for it. Some problems begin to arise, including those related to their son Joe (Oliver Maltman). How the family gets out of the problem will be answered at the year’s end.
